Head coach Hugh Freeze and the Ole Miss Rebels had a fantastic recruiting class in 2013 but didn’t quite follow up by acquiring the same type of talent in 2014. If the Rebels do want to legitimately contend for SEC Titles, they will have to consistently recruit at a high level.

On Monday, the Rebels went a long way towards doing that when 4-Star offensive tackle Drew Richmond gave his pledge to the Rebels.
A 5-Star offensive tackle recruit that inked with the Rebels in 2013 was one of the biggest reasons Richmond committed.
“Laremy Tunsil (offensive tackle at Ole Miss) was definitely vocal in my recruitment,” Richmond said on an ESPN SpreeCast via Drew Champlin of AL.com. “He’s everything I wanted to be and he’s going to be great at the next level.”
The 6’5, 320-pound Richmond is from Memphis, Tennessee and attends Memphis University School. He is ranked as the country’s sixth-best offensive tackle prospect, the top-ranked overall prospect in the state of Tennessee and the 86th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Richmond chose the Rebels over offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Clemson Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes, among others.
Richmond, however, is not closing down his recruitment.
“I’ll definitely be taking all five of my visits,” Richmond said. “Anything can happen. I just want to be sure that Ole Miss is the right place for me.”
