The Atlanta Hawks will be looking for new ownership thanks to Bruce Levenson admitting to sending a racist email and thus voluntarily giving up control of the team.

But while the team is looking to bounce back from a first round playoff exit in 2013-14, there are questions about who might be on the move with ownership in such flux at the moment. According to Basketball Insider’s Steve Kyler, the Atlanta Hawks looking for new ownership may have teams looking at their roster to see who can be poached in this time of transition.
"I don’t think you’ll see a fire sale on the roster… I think Millsap is a question because of his contract status, but your not stealing him because of the idiocy around the team. New ownership may install new leadership on the Ops side and that may change things, but I wouldn’t expect a trade."
It’s hard to say that the Hawks will be trying to trade away players that the new owner would be buying in the sale of the team, but it’s not impossible. If there is going to be a rebuilding period the Hawks might as well get it started now, but one doesn’t seem like it will be necessary with new ownership.
