With the Philadelphia Eagles losing not one but two starting offensive linemen to injury this weekend, you had to figure Tuesday would bring an influx of visiting big uglies to the City of Brothery Love.

More from NFL

Whether either of the two men already mentioned will end up being loved enough by Philly to get a contract is anyone’s guess. But for now, at least they are getting a chance to show their stuff.

Per Stephen Cohen of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, tackle Eric Winston and guard Wade Smith are both getting the once-over from the Eagles.

Winston is being interviewed to possibly replace right tackle Allen Barbre, who may be out for the year after undergoing surgery for a high ankle sprain.

Left guard Evan Mathis could also be out for a long time with a sprained MCL, hence the Eagles’ interest in Wade Smith.

The 30-year-old Winston was once thought of as a top tackle in the league, but after bouncing from Houston to Kansas City to Arizona in the space of three years, he failed to make the Seahawks coming out of camp this season.

At 33-years-old, Wade Smith is even farther down the aging curve than Winston, and like Winston is on the market because he couldn’t cut the mustard in Seattle. Smith originally broke in with Miami in 2003 and has had stints with the Jets, Chiefs and Texans along the way.

Neither of these players is what you would call an ideal option at this point, but with the Eagles looking to fill not one but two vacancies on their offensive line, it’s an all-hands-on-deck situation.

Though this looks more like scraping the bottom of the barrel, if you ask me.
