The Cleveland Cavaliers managed to add LeBron James, Kevin Love and a cast of worthy veterans this offseason but they are still missing more than a few pieces that would make the roster a complete contender.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

One of those areas is point guard, as the Cavs are unbelievably thin at the position with no one proven sitting behind Kyrie Irving. John Lucas III may be an option but fans have been looking at the time spent by Eric Bledsoe in Cleveland and are starting to connect dots.

As pointed out by Sam Amico from Fox Sports Ohio, while Bledsoe would love to join the Cavaliers at this stage in his career, it won’t happen unless he takes a paycut he’s already seemingly unwilling to take.

"Bledsoe (along with many other young up-and-comers around the league) would love to join LeBron during this phase of his career. LeBron will be 30 in December. So he’s the hero of a lot of young guys entering the league. Playing with him would be a dream come true. That said, do I think Bledsoe will come to Cleveland someday? No. Not unless he’s willing to take a paycut and come off the bench behind Dion Waiters and Kyrie Irving. And even I would advise Bledsoe against that."

Bledsoe is close with LeBron James and he wants to get out of Phoenix — or at least get paid the max. But the Suns don’t want to pay him that much money and neither will the Cavaliers. Anything less than the max is likely to be matched by the Suns which especially includes anything the Cavaliers would offer.

It’s a tough situation that Bledsoe is in, but as badly as the Cavs need him a union between the two is very unlikely.
