3. Kelvin Benjamin, Carolina Panthers

Kelvin Benjamin was one of the rookies that showed off his potential in the first week of the season, but he is still a rookie to keep an eye out for this week against a fairly weak Detroit Lions’ secondary. Cam Newton will likely be back on the field for the Panthers this week, which will likely give Benjamin even more chances to make plays. Carolina was ecstatic when they were able to draft him, and they are extremely excited after his Week 1 performance.

He caught six passes for 92 yards, including an impressive touchdown catch that was made with a defender draped all over him.

Needless to say, Benjamin is a playmaker that has plenty of potential to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. The Panthers immediately knew that they had a number one wide receiver when they saw him in practice, and he already looks the part. Expect to see another big game from Benjamin, and for him to continue sticking out among the 2014 rookie class.
