Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer is known as one of the country’s best recruiters, consistently putting together class ranked among the top 10. On Friday, Meyer received another pledge for the class of 2015 when 3-Star athlete A.J. Alexander committed to the Buckeyes.

“Just like Wisconsin, Ohio State provided a great opportunity on and off the field,” Alexander said via Ryan Bartow of 24/7 Sports. “I just like the coaching staff at Ohio State and the challenge the opportunity there presents. They bring in a lot of good recruits every year so it will be a challenge to get on the field and that’s what I want.”

The 6’4, 220-pound Alexander is from Burke, Virginia and attends Lake Braddock High School.

There has been a lot of discussion about what position he will wind up playing.

“Ohio State says H-back but they also said I could play anywhere,” Alexander said. “I’m doing well on defense this season and liking that more right now, but I’ll play anywhere.”

Alexnader chose the Buckeyes over offers from the Boston College Eagles, Minnesota Golden Gophers, North Carolina Tar Heels and Penn State Nittany Lions, among others.

The Buckeyes now have 16 verbal commitments and their class ranks 14th nationally.
