The Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-2 to start the NFL season once again, and they are not getting much help from their starting quarterback Chad Henne. In yesterday’s horrendous 41-10 loss against the Washington Redskins, Henne threw for a paltry 193 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Of course, Henne’s play was not the sole reason the Jaguars got blown out by the Redskins, but in the NFL the quarterback is always the first to be blamed. Thus far this season Henne has thrown for 459 yards three touchdowns and one interception, and yet fans and media are already questioning when we will see rookie Blake Bortles get a chance in a regular season game.

According to head coach Gus Bradley, Chad Henne is still the starter and will be the starter for the Jaguars when they host the Indianapolis Colts next weekend.

Blake Bortles was drafted No. 3 overall in this past May’s NFL draft out of the University of Central Florida. During the preseason, Bortles was electric and notched impressive numbers each and every game. His impressive play had many wondering whether he would win the starting job over Henne, but Bradley put that to bed when he announced Henne as the starter.

It is clear that Henne can help the Jaguars stay in some games, but at the end of the day his play will likely not win them games. At some point, and likely soon, Bortles will take control of this offense and get a chance to shine.
