Giants to hold jersey exchange after team decides to say “’F’ it” in loss to second-string Cards

Following their embarrassing loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, the New York Giants announced that they will allows fans to exchange their Giants jerseys for Jets jerseys or a $100 Modell’s gift card to save New Yorkers from further embarrassment on the Monday morning commute on the NYC subway system.  The Giants coaches and players admitted to saying “f it” in the fourth quarter, leading to Rashad Jennings “dropping” the ball and every Giants receiver dropping passes because… “’F’ it.”

Despite a more than solid 277 yard performance by Eli Manning and a (much, much) better outing by the Giants offense on Sunday, mistakes by both the defense and the special teams led to the Giants dropping to 0-2 again this year following their 25-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.  The 0-2 start this season marks the first time since 1995-96 when the Giants opened consecutive seasons 0-2.

Victor Cruz, who called for more passes his way during the week, had three key drops in the fourth quarter with the Giants trying to rally back late.  He finished the day with five catches for 60 yards.

The Giants led throughout most of the fourth quarter until Ted Ginn Jr. gave Arizona the lead on a 71-yard punt return for a touchdown, putting the Cardinals up 19-14 after the two-point conversion.  Ginn broke a tackle from Walter Thurmond III to spark the return.

With the Giants driving late in the fourth to rally back, runningback Rashad Jennings easily fumbled a ball inside the Cardinals 20-yard line which Arizona recovered, effectively ending the game.

To add insult to injury, the Cardinals started backup quarterback Drew Stanton, who hasn’t started a game in about four seasons. Stanton went 14-for-29 for 167 yards on the day, with the biggest stat for him and the Cardinals were that they committed no turnovers on the day.

Safe to say that this game wasn’t “in the cards” for the Giants to win.
