Radisson suspending sponsorship of Vikings after Adrian Peterson charges

One of the backlashes of an prominent athlete getting himself into hot water is the removal of corporate sponsorship. It was well documented how sponsors bailed on Tiger Woods in the wake of his scandal years ago. The Minnesota Vikings have just had their corporate sponsor Radisson suspend the relationship in the wake of the scandal involving Adrian Peterson.

It isn’t a good look for a company to have their logo splashed behind a team figure addressing their decision to reinstate the running back. A decision that has been incredibly controversial and garnered an incredible negative reaction.

The Vikings will have to come up with a logoless backdrop now. Radisson also issued a statement on the decision.

“Radisson takes this matter very seriously particularly in light of our long-standing commitment to the protection of children,” the company said in a statement. “We are closely following the situation and effective immediately, Radisson is suspending its limited sponsorship of the Minnesota Vikings while we evaluate the facts and circumstances.”
