Week two has finally drawn to a close, and with that always comes the hot waiver adds of the week.  This is part one of a series in which I will help you manage the waiver wire to pick up one of the week’s breakout adds.  The waiver wire is one of the most important aspects of fantasy football and can make or break a team.  I will be listing here the must add players of the week along with people to keep your eyes on.

Week two waiver wire adds

  1. Let’s start with the most important add of the week in Knile Davis.  Last years top fantasy running back, Jamaal Charles, went down on Sunday with a high ankle sprain and will be out for at least 4 weeks.  That leaves a huge hole on the chiefs offense.  Knile Davis stepped in putting up RB1 numbers against a revamped Denver defense.  If you own Charles or need a nice flier for a few weeks, target Davis now.  Will be used heavily for the next 4 weeks at least.
  2. Donald Brown left Indianapolis last season to join the San Diego Chargers and add a bit of a spark to the run game.  Ryan Matthews sprained his MCL, and will be out for 4-6 weeks.  Donald Brown gains a lot more touches now and can put up serviceable numbers.  Target Brown if you can’t get Ahmad Bradshaw or Knile Davis.
  3. Ahmad Bradshaw is the back to own in Indianapolis.  Trent Richardson continues to show nothing, and he seems to be a non factor in the red zone.  Bradshaw ran for 70 yards and caught 5 passes for 26 yards and two scores. He likely won’t put up those kind of numbers every week, but if Richardson continues to be a non factor, Bradshaw’s workload will grow.  Target Bradshaw as more of a stash pick with not as much immediate fantasy impact.
  4. Khiry Robinson impressed late last year in the post season, but has not been getting too many touches this season.  Mark Ingram broke his hand this Sunday, and Robinson is now set for a bigger role.  Pierre Thomas will still shoulder some of the workload, but Robinson is the much better runner.  He should be a good flex play for a few weeks.
  5. Niles Paul, Delanie Walker, and Larry Donnell.  All of these tight ends are worth a target if you’re dealing with injuries to Jordan Cameron or Jordan Reed. If you need a tight end flier, pick up one of these guys with Delanie Walker being the best of the bunch.
  6. Kirk Cousins is a good add for you deep league guys. He has a nice match up in the Eagles coming up who were torched by Chad Henne and Allen Hurns in week one.  Feel confident starting Cousins for at least the next two weeks while RG3 is out.
  7. Lamar Miller is now the starting RB due to the injury bug hitting Knowshon Moreno. He has a nice matchup this week in Kansas City, who has not been so dominant on it’s defensive front.  Miller can put up serviceable flex numbers but, don’t expect him to put up numbers like Moreno did in week 1.
