WWE news: Bad News Barrett expects to return to ring in December

We are rapidly approaching the date when we will get to see former WWE Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett in the ring once again, and now we have some light shed on exactly when from the man himself.

In a recent interview with Sportskeeda.com, Barrett talked a little bit about his injury and revealed that his target date to get back into action in the ring is before the year is over, more specifically this December.

“Yes, I have been out for a while. I’m going through my recovery phase right now.” Barrett said. “It has been great, I’m feeling great. I will be back probably by December, with WWE doing their European tour this winter.”

Back in June during a Smackdown taping, Barrett suffered a severe shoulder injury that has left him on the shelf ever since. He was on the outside in a scuffle with Jack Swagger when he was tossed hard into the barricade. He immediately went down, the referee threw up the X sign and you could hear everyone groan.

They were groaning because Barrett was quickly becoming one of the more enjoyable acts on the roster. There was never any debate that Barrett was talented, but he was finally coming into his own with this gimmick. Despite the fact that he was technically a heel, the fans were catching on and the sky seemed to be the limit.

Now the question is how far will the company push him upon his return? While he is a fantastic performer, injuries have been a problem throughout his career, It now becomes a trust issue, so it might take some time before they put full stock into him once again. There’s little doubt in peoples’ minds that Barrett can be a world champion, he just has to prove that he can stay healthy enough to carry the company.
