Arizona Cardinals filing Jonathan Dwyer under non-football illness category
By Jack Crosby
The Arizona Cardinals are now down a running back in the form of Jonathan Dwyer after he was arrested on Wednesday on a domestic violence charge. Dwyer was arrested right outside the team’s practice facility and he was deactivated by the team shortly thereafter.
On Thursday the team made another move with Dwyer. According to Mike Garafolo. the team will be filing Dwyer under the non-football illness category, citing mental health as the reasoning.
This situation surrounding Dwyer is just the latest in an unfortunate string of incidents involving domestic violence within the NFL, a topic which as become more of a story than what is taking place on the field early on in the season.

According to a report from the Arizona Republic on Thursday, the incident involving Dwyer took place back in July, when Dwyer ended up headbutting his wife and ultimately breaking her nose. The incident began as Dwyer was making some unwanted sexual advances, which resulted in Dwyer’s wife biting his lip. That is when the alleged headbutt took place.
Should all of this be found to be true, it’s unlikely that we may ever see Dwyer in an NFL uniform again.
