We are just in Week 3 of the 2014 NFL season, yet a lot can be seen from the current play. Actually, 12.5 percent of the season has already been played, so some teams may need to press the panic button.

There are several reasons for these teams to fear a disastrous season starting to take shape. For some, their defense has more holes than swiss cheese. For others, they score less than a geek at the Playboy mansion. And for still others, it’s just plain everything. The sky is falling on those teams.

All of the teams that are on the brink currently have an 0-2 record (one has an 0-3 record already). This is a critical record to have for NFL teams.

Since the playoffs expanded in 1990, teams that are winless after two weeks have an almost impossible chance to make it to the playoffs. Only 23 of the 198 teams (11.6 percent) that started 0-2 have gone on to play in the playoffs. Of those teams, four of them (2 percent) have gone to the Super Bowl. On the plus side, if these teams can overcome all those big odds and actually make it to the Super Bowl, they have a good shot of winning. Three of the four teams (75 percent) have won it all.

These teams had high hopes to start the season, and now that it has started, they wish they can hit a redo button.
