Green Bay Packers (+2.5) over Detroit Lions

The majority of books opened the Packers/Lions game with Detroit favored by just one point, but indications are that there is a great deal of money flowing in on the Lions, as that number has moved to 2.5 points. Green Bay was considered the clear favorite to win the NFC North prior to the season, but in the first two weeks, they were blown out in Seattle and highly challenged before squeaking out a victory against the offensively challenged Jets.

However, my belief is that this Packers team, which is (still) led by Aaron Rodgers, more closely resembles that of preseason expectations rather than the first two questionable weeks, and I’m riding with Green Bay in a somewhat tough spot. It is impossible to “trust” this Lions team without significant evidence in the other direction, and when flipping a coin, I will side with the team that employs Aaron Rodgers.

The line is scary and the movement is scarier, but give me the better team, and that is Green Bay.
