The Oakland Raiders are hunting for their first win of the season this Sunday as they prepare to beat the odds and topple the New England Patriots.

Another battle is being waged in Oakland though and it pertains to the job of head coach Dennis Allen. After failing to get the Raiders into the playoffs or anywhere near the postseason in his tenure with the team, he’s starting to look like the No. 1 candidate on the hot seat this year.

Don’t tell that the Raiders though, as the team is apparently sticking by Allen through this 0-2 start. According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, it would take a Tampa Bay Buccaneers style meltdown to get the Raiders to fire Dennis Allen this season.

"NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported on NFL GameDay First that it would take a “Tampa Bay Buccaneers-type meltdown” to cause any sort of coaching change at this point, according to sources close to owner Mark Davis."

This could mean one of two thigns as it could mean Allen needs to avoid losing out the way Greg Schiano did last year when he was fired. It more than likely means Allen had better not have his defense allow 56 points to the Patriots or he may be out of a job come Monday.

Either way, it’s not looking good for the Raiders and while the team is standing by Allen now, feelings may change come the end of the season and another year in Oakland is lost.
