Time-mapping Redskins QB Robert Griffin III’s most unfortunate events
Robert Griffin III has had a tough go in the NFL.
RG3 was a golden child with the Baylor Bears, where he won with ease and broke the school’s records for career passing yards, touchdowns and pretty much ever other passing record. He seemed like he could do the same in the NFL following a successful rookie year, when he won Offensive Rookie of the Year. People thought mobile quarterbacks like RG3 might change the NFL.
They may, but RG3 hasn’t been a big part of that movement. The quarterback has since undergone a great deal of adversity. Once a quarterback with so much promise, he’s struggling to find the form he showed that rookie year. He’s a fantastic quarterback, when healthy. So when he plays poorly, can we assume he’s not healthy (as analysts like Stephen A Smith seem to do)? Or is this what we have come to expect of RG3?
With this most recent ankle injury, it’s time to look back at all the unfortunate events in the young quarterback’s career – self inflicted adversity included.
