Stanford Cardinal vs Washington Huskies
David Shaw and the no. 16 Stanford Cardinal travel to Seattle this weekend for a Pac 12 showdown with Chris Peterson and the Washington Huskies at Husky Stadium. The 2-1 Cardinal already have one loss in the conference after falling to the USC Trojans in week 2 of the season. The Huskies are 4-0, but this game marks the first time this season they are facing a true test.
Details for Saturday’s game are below:
Date: Saturday, Sept. 27
Start time: 4:15 p.m. ET
Location: Seattle, WA
Stadium: Husky Stadium
TV info: FOX
Live stream: FOX Sports Go
Radio: Stanford broadcast here. Washington broadcast here.
Keys to Victory
This game represents a battle of strength against strength: a stifling Stanford defense against a Washington offense that has been humming so far this season. The Huskies have scored 44 points or more in three straight games, but let’s just say that Stanford’s defense has a bit more talent and athleticism than Georgia State on the defensive side of the ball (no disrespect).
On offense, the Cardinal will turn to running back Remound Wright, who is expected back in the lineup after missing Stanford’s game last weekend. The task of that offense will be to keep the high-octane Washington attack off the field as much as anything else, even with how well the Stanford defense has played so far.
Betting Odds
Point spread: Cardinal -7
Moneyline: Cardinal -300, Huskies +250
Over/Under: 47.5
Prediction
Take the under, but even in a lower scoring affair the Huskies will keep things competitive at home. The Cardinal come into this game with a lot to prove as a top-20 and potentially a top-10 team in the country this season. It will be a tough road test, but the defense will come through with big stops when they need them to hold on for the tight victory.
Washington will make a big impression in this game and push the Cardinal to the max, but in the end Shaw’s team won’t drop another conference game this early in the year.
Final Score: Cardinal 24, Huskies 21
