A wrench was thrown in the Minnesota Vikings plans for the season when running back Adrian Peterson had child abuse charges brought against him and he was consequently suspended. That has left the Vikings ground game has suffered since, averaging just 56.6 yards per game.

To the surprise of many, wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson has only gotten one carry in the two games without Peterson. It might be odd to expect a wide receiver to get carries in an NFL game but in week one Patterson had three carries for 102 yards. Patterson isn’t worried about it and just put his faith in Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner.

“I trust everything coach Turner is doing and the offensive staff,” Patterson said, via The Star Tribune. “When my time comes, my time is going to come and I’ll be ready for it.”

Turner says they’re striving to find balance.

“We need to continue to find balance,” Turner said. “. When everyone talks about balance, they think it’s run and pass. It’s balance in terms of getting all of our players involved. In my experience when they’re going good, they take someone away or concentrate on someone to give someone else the opportunity. Cordarrelle is a different situation he was a year ago. He’s growing and teams are matching with him and they’re concentrating on him. We’ve got to continue to work ways to get him the ball.”
