The Indiana Pacers are looking at a season in which they will be without Paul George and critics are already starting to pile it on as though this is a lost year for the team. It may very well be that the Pacers stand little to no chance of winning much this season, but the team isn’t ready to give up yet.

One player who has been mentioned a lot with the white flag waiving is Roy Hibbert, who the team has been rumored to be shopping ever since the Eastern Conference Finals.

According to Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, the Pacers are not interested in trading away Roy Hibbert and consider him to be one of the best centers in the NBA.

"I have asked that question and was told No. The Pacers view Hibbert as one of the top defensive centers in the game. They want improvement from him, but unless things crater, a trade is not very likely."

Of course the Pacers are going to think that their center with a max contract is one of the best centers in the NBA. What are they supposed to say, that he’s on the decline and they want to move him? Even if they’re interested in moving him, the Pacers are going to sell him as high as they can, and praise like this certainly qualifies.
