The Los Angeles Angels could welcome back two injured players for the upcoming American League Divisional Series. Outfielder Josh Hamilton and starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker are both showing encouraging signs of being able to help the Angels in the ALDS.

Hamilton has battled a variety of injuries this season, limiting him to only 89 games, but his latest issue was a rib injury immediately following a shoulder injury. Hamilton apparently had a full workout and the Halos are cautiously optimistic he can contribute by Game One of the ALDS on Thursday:

The right-handed Shoemaker has been a surprise contributor to the Angels’ rotation, and the 28-year old had a strained oblique ruin a nice rookie season, but it appears he is progressing along to where he could potentially start Game Three of the ALDS on October 5:

The Angels will face the winner of the AL Wild Card game — either the Oakland Athletics or the Kansas City Royals — on Thursday, with Jared Weaver starting Game One and C.J. Wilson getting the ball in Game Two.
