Kentucky’s Dakari Johnson dropped a ton of weight (Photo)
If you watched the Kentucky Men’s Basketball team at all last year, then surely you are familiar with Dakari Johnson. He’s a mountain of a man and somewhat of a throwback of a player at the center position for the Cats. Last year Dakari was a banger down low in the post for the Cats and was pretty much immovable once he got into the paint. He was such a throwback big man that the Kentucky fans gave him the nickname, “Big Slow.”

Well it looks like the Kentucky fans better start brainstorming a new nickname for Dakari, because he is shredded now.
This isn’t a total surprise, John Calipari has talked extensively about his team’s new training and workout regimen this offseason and Johnson isn’t the only one that is seeing a major improvement. According to Cal, both of the Harrison twins are down to 4% body fat, which is pretty incredible.
Last year Dakari routinely got winded after six or seven minutes of a fast-paced game and it was tough to keep him on the floor when the Cats wanted to move the ball up the court. It also showed at the end of games when Dakari looked gassed well before the final buzzer had sounded. This year I don’t think we will be seeing those same problems anymore with the kind of shape Dakari is now in.
