After they were able to land a superstar this offseason, the Houston Rockets have to bank on the improvement of their younger players. Two players they will surely be counting on are forwards Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas.

More from Houston Rockets

According to Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle, the Rockets are picking up the options of both Jones and Motiejunas.

"The Rockets intend to pick up their fourth-year option on the contracts for both players, a person with knowledge of the plan said on Tuesday. In keeping with their policy on such moves, the Rockets will wait until the Oct. 31 deadline to pick up the contract options for the 2015-16 season for both players  should unforeseen developments influence that decision."

Jones really came into his own last year and Motiejunas is obviously talented so this was a rather easy decision.

Jones averaged 5.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 0.8 assists in 14.5 minutes per game while shooting 45.7% from the field, 26.3% from beyond the arc and 76.5% from the free throw line in just 19 games during his rookie season. He was much better in year two, going for 12.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.1 assists in 27.3 minutes per game on 54.2% shooting from the field, 30.7% shooting from beyond the arc and 60.5% shooting from the charity stripe in 76 games (71 starts)

Motiejunas, the 20th-overall pick of the 2011 draft, went for 5.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game last season while shooting 44.3% from the field 25.0% from beyond the arc and 60.4% from the field last season.
