PSG vs Barcelona final score: Barca fall 3-2 to PSG playing without Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Paris Saint Germain hosted FC Barcelona on Tuesday in a Champions League clash. A thrilling contest between a pair of European heavyweights, even if PSG were without superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

David Luiz struck first in the game, scoring in the tenth minute of the game. Lucas Moura took the free kick following a set piece and found Luiz in the middle of the box, and he put the ball in the bottom right corner of the goal to take the lead. Barcelona weren’t about to back down thought, just a minute later Lionel Messi tied the game up with a left footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom of the right goal, Andres Iniesta setting up the goal.

Another set piece provided Paris Saint Germain a chance Thiago Motta set in the cross from a corner kick ion the 26th minute. Motta found Marco Verratti at the left side of the six yard box and he headed it into the bottom left corner to regain the lead again.

That score line would stand throughout the first half and the Parisian team took the lead into the break.

Early in the second half Paris Saint Germain struck again, Blaise Matuidi scored with left footed shot from very close range to the center of the goal. This goal didn’t come off a set piece, but was set up by Gregory Van der Wiel with a cross.

Just like with the first goal of the game, Barcelona struck back quickly. A Dani Alves cross came into the box and Lionel Messi elevated to try and head it in the middle of the box. He was unable to reach it and instead it found Neymar, who chested it down and took a shot towards the right post from the left side of the box with the inside of his right foot.

Barcelona weren’t able to get back into the game down the stretch, and Paris Saint-Germain walked away with the win and three points. Paris Saint Germain moves ahead of Barcelona in the table with four points and Barcelona remains in second place.
