I had my highest score since week two last week with 38 points. Luckily I had the Colorado State upset lower (8) than a lot of people did.

Wow, there are some tough ones this week! I only see two games that look easy to pick. The rest are a crapshoot.
These are listed in order from most confidence (10) to least (1) for those of you that play the confidence version of the game like I do.
10: Virginia Tech over North Carolina: I said that the Tarheels had the worst defense in the ACC. Now they face one of the best, and honestly, don’t stand much of a chance. In a week full of tough games, this is the one to go big with.
9. Virginia over Pittsburgh: Akron shut down Pitt. AKRON! Virginia has a really good defense, and should do the same to Pitt. The Cavs may not score a lot of points, but they likely won’t need to.
8: Oklahoma over TCU: The Sooners struggle with TCU, and it’s on the road, but TCU’s offense hasn’t looked that good so far. Oklahoma’s defense has. Advantage: Sooners.
7. Washington State over California: Cal allowed seven passing touchdowns to Colorado. Connor Halliday has the green light to throw 80 times a game, so this could be another shootout. I just like the improving Washington State defense a little more than Cal’s.
6. Alabama over Mississippi: It is going to take a team with a great secondary to beat Alabama. I just don’t think Ole Miss is there just yet, but the Rebels could give the Tide quite a scare.
5. Michigan State over Nebraska: If Nebraska has to throw to win, I’m not entirely sure they can. This game could go either way, but I like Sparty a little more at home. That said, if Nebraska wins this game, they have a pretty open lane to the Big Ten(14) Championship game.
4. Mississippi State over Texas A&M: I’m a believer in the Bulldogs. A&M had problems with Arkansas last week, and likely will with the Bulldogs here. The fact that it is a road game with those cowbells puts this over the top. Expect a shootout in Starkville!
3. Miami(FL) over Georgia Tech: Miami’s run defense will get tested here, but the improvement that they have shown, particularly on the offensive line, makes the Hurricanes a pretty safe pick. The only reason I didn’t put them higher is because of how Nebraska ran on them.
2. Auburn over LSU: Most people will have this higher because of the youth of LSU, and I get it. But with Harris under center, this offense looked really good. If they get more of that this week, they might just win outright.
1. Stanford over Notre Dame: Notre Dame’s offense has not been great since the first two games, and Stanford’s defense has made many a good offense look bad. Expect a low-scoring slugfest. These two defenses are impressive!
