College football picks against the spread October 2-3

Welcome back to my odds and predictions, where I pick every FBS vs. FBS game against the spread. As you can see from my recap, it was not a great week again last week. Just like teams need to step it up in conference play, I must as well.

More from College Football Odds

If you are new to this, I pick every game of every weekend against the spread. I take the average of all of the Las Vegas betting lines, and pick against the average line of all of them combined. All spreads are rounded to the nearest half point, so there are no pushes here.

The Thursday and Friday predictions go up Thursday afternoon. The Saturday noon games are up by 7am Saturday morning. The afternoon kicks are up by noon Saturday, and the night games are up by 5 pm on Saturday. That way I get the most accurate spreads possible.

Not like it has helped so far. I am still 109-129 through the first month!

Central Florida at Houston(-2.5): This line opened up at even, but has gradually gone Houston’s way. The Cougars have looked much better lately, but I remember just how bad they looked at home against UTSA in the opener. That aside, UCF’s only win is against Bethune-Cookman. Give me Houston.

Florida Atlantic(-6.5) at Florida International: FAU looked bad against good opponents. FIU has just looked, well, bad. Give me the Owls.

Arizona at (2)Oregon(-23.5): This line is actually down. Solomon has not played particularly well on the road, and Autzen is one of the most hostile road environments. I have to go with the Ducks. Arizona won’t be able to stop them, and Duck U wants revenge for last year.

Louisville(-1.5) at Syracuse: This line opened at 6.5 or higher, and is now down to 1.5 everywhere with the news that Will Gardner is still out for Louisville. With so many offensive weapons missing for Louisville, this will be a defense-oriented game, and Louisville has the better defense. Give me the Cardinals.

San Diego State at Fresno State(-2.5): Nope, I don’t buy it. Fresno has struggled against the run. Pumphrey is poised for a huge game. Give me the Aztecs.

Utah State at (18)BYU(-20.5): The Aggies have been awful without Keeton, but this is a rivalry game. Still, I can’t get over how bad this team looked against Tennessee and Arkansas State. Give me BYU.

We have some big things still ahead on FantasyCPR this week! Look for the rest of my odds for the week, Chris Brent’s FanDuel lineups, and your start/sit for week 5 of the NFL season. I will also continue my college football September in review.
