By Hayden Kane
Adrian Gonzalez is still upset with the St. Louis Cardinals because he believes that they hit his teammate Yasiel Puig on purpose.
Things got chippy between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night.

At issue was the fact that Adam Wainwright hit Yasiel Puig with a pitch. The conflict did not even boil over between those two, however. It was Adrian Gonzalez and Yadier Molina who got in each other’s faces and forced the benches to clear.
It appears that Gonzalez was more upset on his teammate’s behalf than Puig was himself, especially considering the fact that Wainwright and Puig appeared to bury the hatchet shortly after the incident.
In the moments after the game, Gonzalez was still upset and was still convinced that Wainwright was in the wrong.
There is bad blood between these teams dating back to last postseason, but it is hard to imagine the Cardinals plunking a member of the Dodgers in this spot. Even with the tension that Puig creates, Wainwright put himself in a jam with the heart of the Dodgers’ order coming up by hitting him, eventually surrendering runs.
These teams are fiery and competitive, but they are also smart. The heat of the moment is one thing, but there was really no reason to believe Wainwright was going after Puig.
Between this incident and the massive comeback the Cardinals staged en route to a shocking 10-9 victory, there is plenty of drama and intrigue in this series moving foward.
