DeAndre Jordan is the key to the Los Angeles Clippers’ success

The Los Angeles Clippers blew a late lead in their pivotal game 5 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and then lost in game 6 and were eliminated from the postseason. The Clippers are obviously not that far away from having the tools to get to the NBA Finals but they need a third player to step up and help Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.

Lang Green of Basketball Insiders believes the Clippers need DeAndre Jordan to turn their tandem into a big three if they truly are going to contend for a title.

"Simply put, as good as Griffin and Paul are they are in desperate need of their third cog to emerge and help with the push. Luckily for them, the player is already on the roster and has shown signs of possibly being able to take the next step……The next step in Jordan’s emergence would be earning an All-Star selection – a feat all of the aforementioned big three units have in common."

With DeAndre Jordan’s continued improvement throughout his career and his contract expiring after this season, we should see the best season of his career.

DeAndre Jordan averaged 10.4 points, 13.6 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 1.0 steals and 0.9 assists per game while shooting 67.6% from the field and 42.8% from the free throw line. DeAndre Jordan has averaged 7.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 65.2% from the floor and 42.5% from the charity stripe in his six-year career.
