San Francisco 49ers’ head coach Jim Harbaugh is a former Michigan Wolverines’ quarterback but reportedly holds a grudge against the school

Michigan Wolverines’ head coach Brady Hoke has come under fire lately. After going 11-2 in his first year, Hoke is just 17-14 since and is off to a 2-3 start, including blowout losses to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Utah Utes and Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Speculation about Hoke’s job has again run rampant and as expected, current San Francisco 49ers’ head coach and former Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh’s name has come up in connection.

However, according to Albert Breer of NFL.com, Jim Harbaugh holds a grudge against Michigan.

"The Jim Harbaugh-going-home rumors won’t quiet soon under the increasingly hot seat of Brady Hoke at Michigan. But if the Wolverines are to land him, they might still have to overcome some hard feelings. Why? The story goes that Harbaugh held a grudge over Michigan’s lack of interest in 2008, when U of M tabbed Rich Rodriguez. One thing that could help the school’s effort to the land the coach: new administration."

If a new administration is indeed in place, expect them to make a run at both Jim Harbaugh and LSU Tigers’ head coach Les Miles. It would be tough to get Jim Harbaugh to leave the pros but there is a lot of tension between Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers so he may be tempted to try to turn around his Alma mater.
