Denver Broncos (-7.5) over Arizona Cardinals

Drew. Stanton.

The Denver Broncos are coming off a bye, and with Peyton Manning at the controls, there is no reason to panic, even against a very solid defensive team from Arizona. However, there is one reason and one reason alone that I am picking the Broncos, and that is the shear presence of Drew Stanton.

Yes, Stanton has led the Cardinals to two victories, but once again, Drew Stanton is starting at quarterback for the Cardinals.

He is bad.

There is no other way to quantify it, and in a game where Arizona will almost certainly need 20 points to cover a 7.5-point spread, that is a lot to ask of Mr. Stanton against one of the more talented defensive units in the NFL after a week to rest and prepare. He won’t do it.
