According to Steve Kyler, Ben Gordon has been impressive at Magic camp.
"I have not been over to Magic camp… I’ll see them next week, and get feed back then. I don’t cover the Magic, I cover the league. So I don’t spend a ton of time on camp performance until we start playing games.I can say everyone has been really impressed with Ben Gordon and how aggressive he is taking the opportunity and rookie Elfrid Payton is going as hard as anyone. All that really means, is that is who’s being talked about. I wouldn’t read anything more into it."
Ben Gordon hopes to bring the Magic the outside shooting they desperately need but they also may use him to handle the ball as well.
Ben Gordon played in just 19 games for the Charlotte Bobcats last season. He averaged 5.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while shooting just 34.3% from the field, 27.6% from three and 81.0% from the free throw line. Ben Gordon was drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the third-overall pick in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft and has played for the Bulls, Detroit Pistons and Bobcats.
