Former NFL running back Cedric Benson has sent teams a workout video in hopes of getting back in the NFL.

Cedric Benson hasn’t played in the NFL since 2012 and that hasn’t been by choice. The No. 4 pick of the 2005 NFL Draft never lived up to expectations and didn’t appear to have a whole lot left in the tank two years ago.

However, Cedric Benson isn’t giving up on playing in the NFL. The eight-year veteran is attempting a comeback and has sent NFL teams a video of him working out.

One has to credit Cedric Benson for trying to get back in the league, but the chances of this being a successful attempt seem slim. Cedric Benson averaged 3.5 yards per carry on 71 attempts in 2012 with the Green Bay Packers, which isn’t very good to begin with.

Now, he’s two years removed from NFL action and 31 years old. Running bucks older than 30 years old don’t exactly have a great history in the NFL.

Cedric Benson rushed for 6,017 yards and 32 touchdowns on 1,600 carries during his years in the NFL. He had his best years as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals from 2009-2011, where he had three consecutive 1,000 yard seasons. Along with the Bengals and Packers, Cedric Benson played for the Chicago Bears.
