Dan Gilbert Shares A Sneak Peak Of The Cleveland Cavaliers’ “Potential” New Uniforms

With Kyrie Irving’s extension, LeBron James’ return home, and acquisition of Kevin Love for Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett this offseason, it’s the beginning of a new era for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

To usher in that new era, the franchise has done a number of things to make sure it gets off to a good start. First, a new humongotron, which looks like it’ll live up to its name. Then, a lovely new court design that has the Cleveland skyline along the sideline. (It really does look lovely.) And now, a new jersey that Dan Gilbert gave everyone on Twitter a sneak peak of on Wednesday.

They’re not actually new, per se. According to Waiting For Next Year, the Cavaliers sported those exact jerseys back in 2010, albeit for only a brief spell.

"The “potential” new jerseys referenced by Gilbert bring in more of the navy blue that was a part of the team prior to 2010. It also harnesses an old alternate design that the team unveiled a couple years back during a CavFanatic night back in 2012. Upon adopting a new colorway in 2010 (the “New Expression”), the Cavs were, per league rules, unable to market and sell alternate jerseys for two seasons. Cavs hint toward “potential” new uniform | Waiting For Next Year"

So there you have it. New but-not-really-so-new jerseys that might be used during the 2014-2015 season. They do look good, though.
