With Kyrie Irving’s extension, LeBron James’ return home, and acquisition of Kevin Love for Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett this offseason, it’s the beginning of a new era for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
To usher in that new era, the franchise has done a number of things to make sure it gets off to a good start. First, a new humongotron, which looks like it’ll live up to its name. Then, a lovely new court design that has the Cleveland skyline along the sideline. (It really does look lovely.) And now, a new jersey that Dan Gilbert gave everyone on Twitter a sneak peak of on Wednesday.

They’re not actually new, per se. According to Waiting For Next Year, the Cavaliers sported those exact jerseys back in 2010, albeit for only a brief spell.
"The “potential” new jerseys referenced by Gilbert bring in more of the navy blue that was a part of the team prior to 2010. It also harnesses an old alternate design that the team unveiled a couple years back during a CavFanatic night back in 2012. Upon adopting a new colorway in 2010 (the “New Expression”), the Cavs were, per league rules, unable to market and sell alternate jerseys for two seasons. So there you have it. New but-not-really-so-new jerseys that might be used during the 2014-2015 season. They do look good, though.
