Taj Gibson figured he would be the Chicago Bulls’ starting power forward this season after the team decided to waive Carlos Boozer via the amnesty clause. However, the Bulls signed veteran Pau Gasol and he will start alongside Joakim Noah.

That’s one reason Yannis Koutroupis of Basketball Insiders believes the Bulls should trade Taj Gibson.

"I wrote about this the other week. I think that it’s time to move Taj Gibson to get some more fire power out on the wing, where I feel they’re lacking, around Derrick Rose. His value around the league is greater than it is for the Bulls right now. Kevin Martin would work this year, but he’s 31 and has three years left on his deal at about $7 million per. It’s a bad long-term move for the Bulls, especially considering his lackluster defensive abilities, lack of playoff experience and injury history – although in his defense he’s missed very little time the last two seasons. I’d really like to see Avery Bradley on the Bulls, although I’m not sure how much interest the Celtics would have in Gibson. They can afford to lose Bradley, though."

The Celtics, like every other team, would almost certainly have interest in Bradley. Of course, the Celtics re-signed Bradley in the offseason so they are clearly very high on their guard.

Taj Gibson averaged 13.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.1 assists per game last year while shooting 47.9% from the floor and 75.1% from the free throw line last season. Taj Gibson has put up 9.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 0.9 assists per game while shooting 56.1% from the field and 68.6% from the charity stripe over his five-year career.
