The Indianapolis Colts QB is making a case for NFL MVP. Can Andrew Luck win the award?
Remember when the Colts decided to release Peyton Manning and everyone thought the Colts were going to be bad for a while considering that nobody knew what life without Peyton would be like?
Then they drafted Andrew Luck first overall in 2012 and the Colts have yet to miss a beat.
But this year seems to be a bit more special for Luck.
Steve Mariucci on Andrew Luck: "He's truly an MVP candidate this year."

Following his 370 yard, three touchdown performance in the Colts 33-28 win over the Texans Thursday night, the third-year Colts franchise quarterback continued to make his case to be the league’s offensive MVP this year, throwing for over 300 yards in his fourth straight game and his fifth time doing so in the six games this year.

Including Thursday night’s game, Luck has thrown for 1987 yards with 14 touchdowns and six interceptions. He entered Thursday night leading the league in passing yardage and touchdowns, leading the Colts second-ranked offense in total yardage to a (now) 4-2 record. Luck is currently on pace to throw for over 5,000 yards and over 40 touchdowns, both of which would be career bests. Luck threw for over 4,000 yards in his 2012 rookie year (4,374 yds, 23 TD’s) and came just shy of the 4,000 yard mark last season (3,822 yds, 23 TD’s).
Also, it's about time the Andrew Luck detractors give up. Sure, he throws INTs because he takes a few chances but the kid is phenomenal.

But Luck’s not doing it alone. In fact, he may have one of the best supporting casts in the NFL.
Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton scored his first touchdown of the season and torched the Texans secondary for 223 yards, one yard shy of the Colts franchise record for receiving yards in a game held by Raymond Berry.
“We’ve been saying it all year that we’re going to do our best and take what teams give us,” Colts tight end Coby Fleener said after the game. “If that means throwing to T.Y. for 200 yards, we’ll do it. It it means running the ball every play, we’ll do it. There’s no ‘can’t do’ in this offense.”
If the Colts can continue to keep their “can’t do” offense hot, there should be no reason that Luck doesn’t surpass the 5,000 yard, 40 touchdown mark that was predicted before.
His true case for an MVP bid will come in the coming weeks, when the Colts take on the Bengals at home next week before traveling east to play the Steelers and the New York Giants before their bye week. If he can continue to throw as he’s been throwing, there should be no question who the unanimous offensive MVP should be this year.
But as far as how the Colts would be without Peyton Manning, well, so far Indy’s been “Luck-y.”
