After getting off to an 0-4 start, the Oakland Raiders decided to part ways with coach Dennis Allen. The Raiders hired coach Tony Sparano as Allen’s replacement and Sparano has already expressed to the media that this team is rookie Derek Carr’s team. Sparano told Carr that this is his football team and he wants him to step up and become a leader of the Raiders.

Sparano has already made a good first impression as coach by burying a football signifying that he has buried the Raiders 0-4 start and that he is ready to move on and have an impact. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind with the way that Sparano is talking, that Carr will be the starter not only Sunday, but also in the future.

Sparano is best known for turning around a Dolphins team from being league wide doormats and a team with one win in 2007, into a playoff team with 11 wins in 2008. Sparano is also only the second coach in NFL history to conduct a a 10 game turnaround in the next season with any team.
So if Carr and the Raiders want a coach that has experience of turning a team full of mediocrity into a relevant team, Sparano is the guy. Let’s see if Sparano’s praise of his rookie quarterback can instill the confidence back into Derek Carr and help turn the Raiders season around.
