Week 6 got underway last night with an AFC South battle between the Texans and the Colts, but that doesn’t mean that most owners have locked in their lineup for the weekend.  With some marquee names battling injury, fantasy football teams will be stretched to their limit especially at the WR position where there are some big names dealing with significant injuries.  Check back on Fansided throughout the weekend for updates and you can follow @FansidedFantasy on twitter for the very latest.  Our twitter updates have been slow this week since I’ve been on the road, but I’ll be back at my fantasy headquarters this weekend and make sure to get you all the latest as it comes out Saturday and Sunday. As of the end of practice on Thursday, here’s the latest week 6 injury updates that are affecting fantasy lineups for this weekend:

Wide Receiver

Calvin Johnson-Detroit Lions: Megatron hasn’t been back in practice at all this week, but he remains hopeful to play on Sunday.  At this point, owners should hope for clarity, and the best scenario might be for him to rest a week and come back healthy week 7.

A.J. Green-Cincinnati Bengals: After re-injuring his toe and/or foot in practice, Green met with a foot specialist and will most likely miss week 6 against the Panthers.  He could miss a few weeks depending on what exactly his diagnosis is.  Stay tuned for much more news on Green in the coming days.

Percy Harvin-Seattle Seahawks: Harvin was added to the injury report after missing practice on Thursday.  There aren’t many details about his thigh issue, but it is most likely just the Seahawks attempting to manage his reps.  Double check his participation the rest of this week, but he should be a safe WR2 against the Cowboys this week.

Mike Wallace-Miami Dolphins: Wallace has been limited in practice like he has been all season, but he should be ready to suit up against Green Bay on Sunday.

Vincent Jackson-Tampa Bay Buccaneers: V-Jax is playing through a myriad of injuries but is still lined up to be the #1 target for Mike Glennon against the Ravens.

Michael Crabtree-San Francisco 49ers: Crabtree is still saying his foot isn’t an issue, but he played less than usual last week against the Chiefs.  His owners hope he can bounce back with a strong Monday night performance against the Rams.  The extra day of rest should help him be that much healthier and a low-end WR3.

Mike Evans-Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Evans returned early and has turned in two limited practices this week.  He could be back this week, but I’d give him a week to work his way back before starting him in fantasy leagues.

Eric Decker-New York Jets: Decker remains on track to start against his former club when the Broncos come to New York on Sunday, but the Jets offense has struggled so badly he’s still not a great option.

Cecil Shorts-Jacksonville Jaguars: Shorts returned to practice on Thursday and looks like he’ll be back on the field to start week 6.  His hamstrings have given him issues all season, though, so proceed with extreme caution

Marvin Jones-Cincinnati Bengals: Jones still hasn’t been able to practice and won’t be able to play this week as he continues to work his way back from ankle surgery.

Running Back

Zac Stacy-St. Louis Rams: Stacy is expected to  be able to play this week despite missing practice most of the week.  He still isn’t a great play at less than 100% against the 49ers, but he does look like he’ll be able to get on the field.

Joique Bell-Detroit Lions: Bell is practicing in full and has been cleared from his week 4 concussion.  With Reggie Bush and Calvin Johnson both struggling with injuries of their own, Bell could see a heavy workload on Sunday against the vulnerable Vikings.

Reggie Bush-Detroit Lions: Bush hasn’t practiced this week, but check his Friday practice to see if Bush is able to return.  Right now, he looks like he’ll miss week 6.

Fred Jackson-Buffalo Bills: Jackson is fully expected to be ready to play on Sunday against the Patriots despite an ankle injury that has caused him to be limited in practice.

Shonn Greene-Tennessee Titans: Greene missed Thursday’s practice, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be able to take on the Jags on Sunday.  He’s been the lead back in the rotation for Tennessee so far this season, but Bishop Sankey could get a boost in carries and performance if Green is indeed sidelined.

Donald Brown-San Diego Chargers: Brown hasn’t practiced this week after his concussion on Sunday, so don’t expect him to play Sunday.  It should be a busy week for Branden Oliver against the Raiders.

Knowshon Moreno-Miami Dolphins: Moreno has been limited in practice and his status for Sunday isn’t certain.  He could return, but it looks like he’ll be a gametime decision as the Dolphins take on the Packers on Sunday.

Jonathan Stewart-Carolina Panthers: Stewart was back in practice on Thursday, but how he responds in the next few days will determine if he gives it a go on Sunday or not.  His status for Sunday is still very much up in the air.

Darrin Reaves-Carolina Panthers: Reaves was back in practice Thursday and will be in line for the start if Jonathan Stewart is again unable to suit up week 6. The Bengals run defense is suspect, so Reaves could put together a decent flex game if you’re desperate.

Toby Gerhart-Jacksonville Jaguars: Gerhart didn’t practice Thursday with his ankle ailment and has struggled mightily as the Jags lead back.  Look elsewhere this week regardless of Gerhart’s injury status.

Quarterback

Teddy Bridgewater-Minnesota Vikings: Bridgewater is practicing in full and should be ready to go for week 6 against the Lions.  It isn’t a good matchup, though, so leave him on the waiver wire even in dual-QB leagues for this week.

Jake Locker-Tennessee Titans: Locker has yet to return to practice and looks unlikely to start Sunday.  Whoever starts for Tennessee gets a great matchup against the Jags, but it doesn’t look like Locker will get the call.

Drew Stanton-Arizona Cardinals: Stanton hasn’t been cleared to return from his concussion yet, but he was limited in practice Thursday which could be a positive indication that he’ll be back in time for Sunday.  If not, it’ll be Logan Thomas who gets the start for the Cardinals since Carson Palmer is very unlikely to play on Sunday.

Derek Carr-Oakland Raiders: Carr has been limited in practice this week, but is on track to start this Sunday against San Diego.  The Oakland offense is one to stay away from if at all possible, so hopefully you don’t need Carr in your lineup this week.

Tight End

Delanie Walker-Tennessee Titans: Walker has said his shoulder will continue to be an issue all season, but he is practicing in full this week and will be ready to play Sunday against the Jags in a nice matchup this Sunday.

Greg Olsen-Carolina Panthers: Olsen hasn’t been practicing but is expected to play on Sunday against Cincinnati in a tough matchup.

Vernon Davis-San Francisco 49ers: Davis continues to battle back and ankle injuries, but he was back in practice Thursday and looks like he’ll suit up and take on the Rams Monday night.

Jordan Reed-Washington Redskins: Reed expects to play on Sunday for the first time since week 1.  His matchup will be a favorable one against the Cardinals, but he’ll be playing for the first time in a while and may share reps with Niles Paul. He’s a high-risk, low-end TE1 this week.
