Jadeveon Clowney was the No. 1 overall pick in the Draft this year, but he’s missed almost all of the season with an injury.

There were questions about Jadeveon Clowney’s durability coming into the draft, as the South Carolina product had skipped out on most of his final year in college and many wondered how well conditioned his body was. Houston Texans scouts feared not, but Clowney has already missed almost all of the season with an injury thus far.

That could al change though, as Clowney is gearing up for a Week 7 return against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

According to John McClain from the Houston Chronicle, Clowney will have input on whether or not he plays next Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"Outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney is hoping to return for the Oct. 20 nationally-televised game at Pittsburgh."
"Clowney, the first pick in the draft, will have input in the decision that ultimately will be made by the team doctors and trainers who’ve overseen his recovery from arthroscopic knee surgery."

This is great news for the Texans, as the decision will come down to team doctors and not just Clowney. What’s even better is that Clowney is far enough along that he’ll have input on whether he can play or not, even if a player’s judgement can’t always be trusted.

It’s going to be an interesting week watching Clowney rehab in what could be his final week off, but signs are starting to point to the No. 1 overall pick returning on Monday Night Football.
