The New York Jets desperately need receiver Eric Decker in the lineup, but that may not happen for the 1-4 team as Rex Ryan expressed disappointment with his progress from a hamstring injury
Eric Decker continues to recover at a deliberate pace form his lingering hamstring injury he injured in the team’s Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers and head coach Rex Ryan’s patience is wearing thin.

Decker was the team’s high priced free agent acquisition in the offseason and was looking like a true No. 1 receiver prior to the injury taking place and despite efforts to come back and play through the pain and the injury has not returned to the form he showed when he was healthy.
The Jets offense has been anemic with quarterback Geno Smith struggling mightily and being benched in favor of Michael Vick in the second half against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, but the team was still shutout and fell to 1-4.
Ryan expects Decker to play on Sunday, along with linebacker and leading tackler David Harris and cornerback Darrin Walls, but hoped he would be further along in his recovery at this point after being limited in Friday’s practice.
Rex Ryan still thinks Harris, Walls and Decker will play. Had been hoping for more from Decker today in practice. #nyj

After missing last week’s game against the Chargers, the absence of Decker loomed large who has five receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown in losses to the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions.
