After two weeks of focusing on the state of Mississippi, all eyes will be on Tallahassee, Florida Saturday night with the second-ranked Florida State Seminoles play host to the fifth-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Both teams have been fighting injuries and suspensions but have still managed to stay unbeaten.

One of those suspended players is a former 5-Star recruit, Florida State linebacker Matthew Thomas.

Last week, Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher told Brendan Sonnone of The Orlando Sentinel that he hoped to have Matthew Thomas back for their showdown with Notre Dame.

"“We’re thinking in another week he’ll be ready to play Notre Dame, but we don’t know that in time,” Fisher said during his weekly press conference.Fisher was then asked when he’d know for sure about Thomas’ return and said “that’s a good question. If I knew that I’d tell you.”"

Now, according to Warchant.com, Matthew Thomas’ suspension and he will play Saturday.

"Warchant.com has confirmed with a source close to the Florida State football program that linebacker Matthew Thomas’ suspension has been lifted. As a result, the former five-star recruit will be eligible to play in this Saturday’s top-five match-up against Notre Dame."

Matthew Thomas has barely seen the field at Florida State. Last year, he injured his shoulder and missed the last nine games of the season. Matthew Thomas may not have seen any action in quite some time but he has been practicing and has reportedly been taking a lot of reps. He could be the kind of spark the Florida State defense needs to get on the right track.
