The New York Knicks are taking on the Toronto Raptors tonight and Amar’e Stoudemire isn’t in the starting lineup.

Derek Fisher made an interesting decision tonight when he chose to start Quincy Acy over Amar’e Stoudemire. Stoudemire vowed that he would have a bounce back season this year and Fisher claims that his decision to start Acy tonight is no knock at Stoudemire’s recent performance.

Knicks fans shouldn’t look too much into this whole ordeal. Like Fisher said, he wants to get a look at Acy and determine his role and how much playing time he will receive this upcoming season. Expect Stoudemire to be the starter during the regular season barring a major injury or a complete drop off in performance. The Knicks have high expectations for Stoudemire to return back to All Star form and if he doesn’t, it is highly likely that this will be his last season in a Knicks uniform.

It is expected to take some time for the Knicks to successfully strive under the newly implemented triangle offense. Last season, the Knicks ran into some road blocks when they would just stand around and let Carmelo Anthony go one on one all game. The triangle offense requires a massive amount of ball movement and chemistry will be a huge factor to the success of this new system. It may take some time, but the Knicks expect to return back to the postseason next season after missing the playoffs last year.
