Andrew Bogut has never been a great free throw shooter. Recently, though, he’s been pretty horrendous.
A lot of his woes from the charity stripe could be the result of a gruesome elbow injury he suffered in 2009 when he was a member with the Milwaukee Bucks. As a result of his fall, he broke his hand, dislocated his elbow and sprained his wrist. To no surprise, that has translated to him having less range of motion in his arm, which, naturally, has affected his shooting ability, per Mercury News.
"As for the elbow, Bogut may never regain full range of motion, but he continues to work at it. But after converting on just 44 percent of his free throws over the last three seasons, it seems like Bogut has had enough and is ready to change his approach to shooting free throws. That change: shoot with his left hand rather than his right.

byBogut isn’t the first person who has done this. The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Tristan Thompson also switched his shooting hand last offseason and it paid off. After shooting 58.6 percent from the free throw line over his first two seasons as a pro, he shot a career-high 69.3 percent last season.
Time will tell if it works for Bogut.
