A giant beat down and an embarrassing 27-0 loss wasn’t the worst thing that happened to the Giants Sunday night – Victor Cruz tore his patellar tendon and underwent surgery Monday.

Pro Bowl wide receiver Victor Cruz went down in agony and was carted off of the field crying, knowing that his season was most likely over. The Giants announced that Cruz tore his patellar tendon and that he is done for the season.

Cruz underwent successful surgery on Monday and it is not known whether or not Cruz will ever be the same player that he once was. Cruz is definitely out for the entirety of this season and it is not yet known whether or not he will be ready for the start of next season. The Giants will now need Rueben Randle and rookie Odell Beckham Jr. to step up and become Eli Manning’s new go to targets.

Beckham is adamant and determined to step up in Cruz’s absence. When Cruz was down Beckham went up to Cruz and told him ‘Bro I got you.’ Beckham said that Cruz has had his back since day one and he wants to play hard for him. The Giants will need to somehow overcome Cruz’s departure and they will need to rally around him.

Many doctors and specialists say that it is difficult for a speedy guy like Cruz to come back from this type of injury. Coach Tom Coughlin is confident that Cruz will come back better than ever from this injury.

“He’s been challenged his whole life, I don’t see him backing down from any challenge whatsoever.” Coughlin said.

The Giants have a big game coming up on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The next man needs to step up and they need to beat the Cowboys.
