Matt Forte has led the Bears to a 3-1 record on the road and in the hunt for the top spot in the NFC North through six weeks, but is he the team’s offensive MVP?
Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte has been one of the most consistent and efficient dual-threat running backs in the NFL in recent memory.
Forte currently leads the NFL in receptions with 46 through six weeks to go along with his four-yard average per carry and two rushing touchdowns. Number 22 also has a touchdown catch on the season and finished with 157 all-purpose yards for the Bears in their win over Atlanta in Week 6.

With weapons like Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffrey and Martellus Bennett, the average fan may not think to put Forte in the team-mvp talk, but the 28-year old from Tulane University is one of the best.
Even though Marshall and Jeffrey have combined for seven touchdowns and 56 receptions, this offense goes as Matt Forte goes. Forte has touched the ball 145 times in six games, good for almost 25 touches a game.
Check out this stat that Randall Liu tweeted about the career of Matt Forte:
.@ChicagoBears Matt Forte tied Marshall Faulk for 2nd fastest in @nfl history to get 7000 rush & 3000 rec yds (97 gms). Thurman Thomas 1st

Although he fumbled in the loss to Carolina, Forte has been very reliable with the ball in his hands throughout his time in Chicago. To his credit, Forte has only fumbled 12 times despite over 2,000 touches in his NFL career.
Bears head coach Marc Trestman praised Forte for his pass-catching ability on Monday :
Trestman on Matt Forte catching passes: "He's been playing at a high level as a receiver since we walked in here."

With the up-and-down play of Jay Cutler and the injuries here and there to Marshall and Jeffrey, I think it’s safe to say that Forte has been the offensive MVP through six weeks for the Chicago Bears.
