College football results vs. the spread for week 7

I think I did better this week. Like I said last week, I can’t get much worse.

BYU at Central Florida(-2.5): HIT! They needed overtime to do it, but I will take it!

Washington State at Stanford(-17.5): HIT! I got a break from the half this time. This game was never in question.

San Diego State(-4.5) at New Mexico: HIT! I took Pumphrey one week too early in the College Football Challenge…..

Fresno State(-10.5) at UNLV: MISS! The Rebels beat Fresno for the first time since the Randall Cunningham era.

Texas vs. Oklahoma(-16.5) at Dallas: HIT! Oklahoma’s offense was nowhere near good enough. Good thing the defense and special teams stepped up or they would have lost outright.

Illinois at Wisconsin(-26.5): MISS! If they can’t even clobber the serfs of the Big Ten(14), how are they supposed to make the confernce championship game?

Cincinnati at Miami(FL)(-16.5): HIT! The Hurricanes keep improving on offense. If they could get their defense in order, this could be a dangerous team.

West Virginia(-5.5) at Texas Tech: MISS! The Red Raider defense is looking a lot better than it did a month ago.

Florida State(-23.5) at Syracuse: HIT! The Seminoles played a good game and still couldn’t cover.

Georgia(-2.5) at Missouri: MISS! The Tigers have been terrible at home, but Georgia just dominated them.

Tulsa at Temple(-17.5): MISS! I guess I didn’t learn my lesson with mediocre teams and high spreads…..

Indiana at Iowa(-3.5): MISS! That Indiana defense can sure make average offensive teams look unstoppable…..

Louisiana-Monroe at Kentucky(-21.5): HIT! This game didn’t start off so well for the Wildcats, but they finished strong.

Northwestern at Minnesota(-3.5): MISS! I knew better.

Middle Tennessee State at Marshall(-24.5): MISS! The half taketh away on this one.

Rice(-1.5) at Army: HIT! This was never a game.

Duke at Georgia Tech(-3.5): HIT! Sure, I pick Duke straight up, and forget to change it in my Pick Em picks…..

Buffalo(-14.5) at Eastern Michigan: MISS! Wow, how bad are you to lose to EMU?

Arkansas State(-10.5) at Georgia State: HIT! The Red Wolves are no longer the best team in Arkansas, but they are closer than you think.

Bowling Green at Ohio(EVEN): HIT! The Bobcats are nowhere near the team that they have been over the last five years or so.

Massachusetts at Kent State(-1.5): HIT! The Minutemen stop the longest skid vs. 1-A foes. Congratulations!

Miami(OH) at Akron(-14.5): MISS! At some point, I deserve this…..

New Mexico State at Troy(-6.5): MISS! So much for staying close….

Western Michigan at Ball State(-2.5): MISS! How in the world did the Cardinals almost win in Iowa City???

Boston College at North Carolina State(-3.5): HIT! This wasn’t close.

North Texas at UAB(-6.5): MISS! I need to quit picking against the Blazers…..

Louisville at Clemson(-9.5): HIT! Louisville managed to keep it close, but just barely.

Auburn(-2.5) at Mississippi State: HIT! I didn’t think State would do that to them, but a win is a win.

Michigan State(-20.5) at Purdue: MISS! What happened to that feared Sparty defense?

Oregon(-2.5) at UCLA: HIT! Wow, impressive showing by the Ducks.

TCU at Baylor(-8.5): HIT! I was thinking more like 35-31, but it was more fun to watch this way….

Toledo at Iowa State(-3.5): HIT! The Rockets just have too many injuries on offense.

North Carolina at Notre Dame(-16.5): MISS! Wow, the Domer D looked terrible. They are lucky to come out with a win…..

Oklahoma State(-20.5) at Kansas: MISS! This was an impressive defensive effort by the Jayhawks.

Central Michigan at Northern Illinois(-9.5): MISS! Wow, didn’t see the Huskies getting dominated by the Chippewas….

Washington at California(-3.5): HIT! Cal’s defense has too many holes for them to beat good teams.

Alabama(-8.5) at Arkansas: HIT! Can you imagine what the Hogs’ record would look like in any other division?

Idaho at Georgia Southern(-24.5): MISS! They got close, at least.

Florida International at UTSA(-3.5): HIT! FIU isn’t as bad as they looked early on.

East Carolina(-16.5) at South Florida: MISS! Forget covering, the Bulls almost ruined ECU’s chances at a New Years Six Bowl.

Penn State at Michigan(-1.5): MISS! The leadership of Gardner is picking up everyone on the team right now.

Houston at Memphis(-7.5): HIT! In the first half, it didn’t look like the Cougars had a prayer of keeping this close.

LSU at Florida(EVEN): HIT! This wasn’t all Driskel, but the fact that he threw an interception to set up the game winner didn’t help his cause to start over Treon Harris this week.

Connecticut at Tulane(-3.5): MISS! Okay, maybe the Huskies are that bad…..

Old Dominion at UTEP(-2.5): HIT! The ODU defense doesn’t seem ready for FBS opponents yet.

Mississippi at Texas A&M(-2.5): HIT! Another statement game by the Rebels. When will people start to believe?

Air Force at Utah State(-7.5): HIT! The defense stole the show from the offense in this one for the Aggies.

Colorado State(-2.5) at Nevada: MISS! Nevada came very close to stealing this one.

USC(-2.5) at Arizona: HIT! Only because of that half. I really did think Arizona would win outright.

Wyoming at Hawaii(-5.5): MISS! I should know better than to pick against the Warriors at home.

Louisiana-Lafayette at Texas State(-2.5): MISS! I looked too far into ULL’s poor showings earlier this year.

I went 27-24 on the week. I’m back above .500 for a week, but it doesn’t really make a dent in my season total. I am still at 151-189 on the year.
