Joe Flacco and Tyron Smith were honored by the NFL as the league announced its players of the week on Wednesday.
Five touchdowns passes in 16 minutes will give a guy a leg up on weekly honors in the NFL and for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, it was enough as he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 6.

Flacco finished with 306 yards and five touchdowns on 21-of-29 passing as the Ravens jumped out to a 35-0 lead just a minute into the second quarter en route to a 48-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In the NFC, left tackle Tyron Smith of the Dallas Cowboys earned Offensive Player of the Week honors as the Cowboys won in Seattle. Quarterback Tony Romo wasn’t sacked in the game and DeMarco Murray continued his streak of 100-yard games to open the season, finishing with 115 yards.
Smith is the first offensive lineman honored in the weekly awards since Brian Waters of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2004.
Tennessee Titans defensive end Jurrell Casey had two sacks against Jacksonville and was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week. In the NFC, Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah was honored for four tackles, 2½ sacks and a forced fumble in Detroit’s win at Minnesota.
Arizona Cardinals kicker Chandler Catanzaro hit from 33, 49 and 37 yards and has not missed a kick this season. Catanzaro was named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week. In the AFC, Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee had four punts, allowing no return yardage, and also executed an onside kick in Indy’s win at Houston.
