Kevin Love has a lot riding on him this season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but already he’s finding himself in a more physical environment then he was expecting.

The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Kevin Love this offseason to make sure that their title team had no holes. There are still holes in roster but Love is a massive pillar that the Cavaliers needed to get. But what they don’t need is for him to get injured, which has already happened.

Kevin Love left the Cavaliers preseason game against the Indiana Pacers with what looked to be a neck and back injury. As it turns out, the ‘injury’ is more or less aches and pains — or Love wanting to get out of a preseason game.

According to Chris Haynes from the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the Cavaliers aren’t dancing around about Kevin Love’s injury but they’re also not cowering and cursing the basketball gods either. Instead, Love is expected to be just fine, as his injuries are not concerning to Cleveland.

"Head coach David Blatt said Love has a stiff neck and a team spokesperson reiterated that it wasn’t a serious injury. The All-Star forward sustained the injury sometime in the first quarter. He was seen on the bench stretching it out before placing a warm wrap on the back of his neck. He got back in the game in the second quarter but aggravated it after being fouled."

Love isn’t likely used to winning or playing on a winning level as his years in the basketball boneyard of Minnesota softened him up. But he’s getting pounded from clay and molded into what the Cavs need him to be, and there will be some pain along the way.
