Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell was back in the news this week, but it was in regards to the same issue that he was in the headlines back in August for. The second-year back waived his preliminary hearing on marijuana and DUI charges from back in late August, meaning that a plea could be on the way.

While Bell did not face any punishment from the team, nor did teammate LeGarrette Blount who was also with him at the time, it was pretty clear that he had let the famed Steelers organization down with his actions on that August day. For that, though, he apologized.

In speaking to ESPN recently, Bell noted the remorse that he has for the incident, as well as telling Scott Brown that he has indeed apologized to his teammates already.

“It’s a mistake that obviously [I] can’t do it again,” Bell said, via Scott Brown of ESPN.com. “It’s something I definitely regret doing but I apologized to my teammates for it.”

Now should Bell be convicted of these charges, he will face a two-game suspension from the league under the policy. So getting the apology out before he could potentially miss some time was a good move.

Just like any other NFL player that has made a mistake such as this, all fans and the Steelers can hope now is that he learned from all of it.
