Follow the game between Alabama and Texas A&M in this live scoring thread that will include scoring updates and video highlights

1st quarter:

Adam Griffith was 1-0f-5 on his field goals over the last three games, but he was good on his first try on Saturday as he drilled a 21-yard kick right through the uprights to give Alabama an early 3-0 lead at the 11:07 mark after the Tide went 71 yards on the opening drive.

T.J. Yeldon punches it in for the Alabama touchdown to give the Tide a 10-0 lead to cap a 11-play, 72-yard drive with 4:38 remaining in the opening quarter from Tuscaloosa.

2nd Quarter:   Yeldon scored his second touchdown on the afternoon, this one coming on fourth down from the one as Alabama takes a 17-0 lead with 13:36 remaining in the second quarter. Yeldon is up to 75 yards on the day.

Blake Sims with his best run of his Alabama career as he scores from 43 yards out to extend the Alabama lead to 24.    Derrick Henry got involved in the scoring with an eight-yard touchdown run to cap another drive for Alabama that went at least 64 yards.

Amari Cooper finds the end zone with his first score of the afternoon as Sims delivered it from 24 yards out right in the break basket to give Alabama an absurd 38-0 lead over an A&M team that doesn’t look like they want to be out there.

Alabama is flat out embarrassing Texas A&M at this point and if there were a slaughter rule for college football, it would be in effect after Henry’s second touchdown of the quarter as Alabama leads 45-0 with 22 seconds left in the half after Henry’s 41-yard reception.

3rd Quarter:

Cooper goes over 100 yards for the first time in three games after hauling in this 45-yard touchdown pass from Sims as Alabama continues their rout.

4th Quarter:

Jake Coker entered with the game decided and hit Ty Flourney-Smith for the 14-yard touchdown to increase the lead to a mind-boggling 59 points.

The anticipation and excitement for today’s game between Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide and Kevin Sumlin’s Texas A&M Aggies won’t come close to the fireworks and drama when Johnny Manziel was running around and making play after play to upset the Tide two years ago and nearly pulling off another upset last year.

However, there is still plenty of intrigue in this SEC West showdown even if Manziel is not in uniform as the Aggies are coming off back-t0-back losses to the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Ole Miss Rebels, respectively, and the Tide are coming off a one-point win over the Arkansas Razorbacks after losing to Ole Miss two weeks ago.

Texas A&M lost in College Station last year 49-42 after winning 29-24 in Tuscaloosa two years ago, so will the road team win for the third year in a row?

Both teams are facing must-wins as they can’t afford another conference loss, but especially for Alabama who still has Mississippi State and the Auburn Tigers remaining on the schedule, so if they win out, they are likely to be participating in the College Football Playoff.

In order to get there, however, Blake Sims and the offense need to perform at a level much higher than what we saw against Arkansas when they were only able to run for 66 yards and Sims was less-than-stellar despite throwing two touchdowns.

The Alabama defense was outstanding — especially late — to preserve the win, but they face a much tougher test in Kenny Hill and the Aggies offense who is third in the nation in passing offense and sixth in the nation with 43.9 points per game.

With kickoff set for 3:30 ET on CBS from Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, AL check back to this post throughout the game for the latest scoring updates and video highlights.
