Boston Red Sox are trying to get back to the postseason next year, and that could all start with hiring a new hitting coach.
Chili Davis is a man on the rise in baseball as he’s going to be a hot commodity this offseason for teams looking to turn their fortunes around. He’s not being considered for any managerial positions yet, but there are a few hitting coach vacancies that he’s being considered for.

Boston Red Sox front office officials are trying to fix the team after coming up short in 2014, and that could involve hiring Davis as their new hitting coach. According to John Stiglich from CSNBayArea.com, the Boston Red Sox have interviewed Chili Davis for the vacancy at hitting coach.
"That comes one day after Davis interviewed with the New York Yankees. Both teams have hitting coach vacancies to fill, and toss the Texas Rangers into the mix as another team reportedly interested in Davis’ services."
Boston isn’t the only team to have reached out to Davis and they likely won’t be the last. So far the Minnesota Twins don’t seem to be that interested in hiring Davis as manager, meaning he’ll land somewhere as a hitting coach. Boston has some incentive to hire Davis outside of just coaching need, as Stiglich reports the New York Yankees interviewed Davis earlier this past week.
