The Seattle Seahawks moved on from Percy Harvin yesterday, and after he found out about the trade to the New York Jets, Harvin was rather excited.

As Percy Harvin leaves another city, a bridge enthralled in flames lies in his wake. Yet another
franchise that he has alienated himself as a contributing member of the organization. Friday night, the Seattle Seahawks dealt Harvin to the New York Jets for a conditional 2015 NFL Draft pick. Apparently, Harvin is excited about the news.
Ian Rapoport, maybe better known as RapSheet due to his breaking Twitter information, is reporting that following his learning of the trade to a new team, Percy Harvin was “pumped.”
At this point, I’m not sure that’s a fair reaction for the embattled wide receiver to have. Sure, who am I to tell someone how to react, but Percy being Percy suggests that this move isn’t one that he should be thrilled about.
The Jets represent a fresh start, and Geno Smith is a better quarterback than Christian Ponder, whom Percy thrived with in Minnesota, but it all comes at a cost.
As Harvin leaves Seattle, his character takes yet another hit. The amount of off of the field incidents, migraines, failed drug tests, and the like have grown old. His on the field antics, fighting with teammates, and frequent visits to the trainers table are worn out. While Percy Harvin has every right to be pumped, he needs to understand he may be on some of his last legs.
Entering the New York media, Percy will be scrutinized to a level unparalleled throughout his career. When he’s good, he will be great, but when he’s Percy, you can bet the likes of Manish Mehta and the New York Jets press will let him have it.
Revel in the opportunity Percy, but know this is your wake up call. If you aren’t going to answer it now, you likely never will.
